Go on, take the plunge

Now you have made the wise decision to hold your wedding celebration at The Jersey Farm Country Hotel here are some handy tips on how to go about booking your special event.

1. Firstly you must choose your date and telephone The Jersey Farm Country Hotel reception to see if there is a vacancy and reserve the date for yourselves, but don't leave it too late as the popular dates always go well in advance.

2. You must now confirm your booking within 7 days of the initial booking. We will need rough idea of numbers a brief outline of your requirements, along with a deposit of £500.00 as security along with all your personal details i.e. Telephone number, address etc. (Please note deposits are non refundable in any circumstances.) Payment for deposits is accepted in cash, cheque and credit cards (not amex)

3. A further deposit of £1000.00 is required 6 months prior to the event. Please note deposits are non refundable in any circumstances.) Payment for deposits is accepted in cash,c heque and credit cards (not amex)

4. We then ask that you make an appointment with us to discuss your personal arrangements such as menu etc. This must be done at least 2 months prior to the wedding or sooner. At this point we will require a further deposit making deposits paid up to 50% of the estimated final balance (non-refundable).

5. We will then need your seating plan at least 10 days prior to the big day. We will have issued you with a dummy plan to assign names to.

6. Then 14 days before the wedding we need to know any alteration to the seating plan and guest numbers. The number you give us 14 days prior will be the number we cater for and what you will be charged for. The total account must be settled at least 14 days prior to the event. Payment can be in the form of cash or credit card. Cheques will only be accepted 21 days prior to the event.

7. 2 days before we will require your place cards which will be put on the tables for you and any favours etc. We will have the first draft of your table plan and menu which you can just confirm is all in order. You can also arrange for your cake to be delivered the day before if you wish and any presents etc.

8. Enjoy the day!!

9. The day after your wedding any presents and the cake can be collected.

Terms and Conditions

1. Until the deposit is accepted and terms and conditions agreed the booking will remain provisional and Jersey Farm reserved the right to refuse the booking. Jersey Farm reserves the right to refuse bookings without condition and reason. If you having a civil ceremony it is your responsibility to book the registrar and this should be done before confirmation of your booking.

5. 14 days prior will be the number we cater for and what you will be charged for. The total account must be settled at least 14 days prior to the event. Payment can be in the form of cash or debit card. Cheques will only be accepted 14 days prior to the event.

6. Cancellation - in the unfortunate event of cancellation of the wedding a charge will be made calculated as a percentage of the total booking. Up to 6 months prior to the event loss of £1500.00 initial deposit

6 - 2 months prior to the event loss of £2000.00 deposit 2 - 1 month 50% of the estimated final balance

Less than 1 moth prior 80% of estimated final balance

7. Minimum guest numbers to receive the wedding package is 60 adults . Numbers under this will have to arranged with the proprietor and charged accordingly. Special tariffs are available for smaller weddings subject to conditions. Minimum numbers in the barn for an evening reception is 90 guests. Minimum booking is then 60 adult guests for wedding package and 90 guests with evening buffet (i.e. Minimum spend of £3200.00) any persons added on to total within 14 days of wedding will be paid for on booking. Any persons reduced of total numbers within 14 days moneys will be lost.

8. Prices quoted are inclusive of VAT. Service charges are left to the discretion of the customer. We reserve the right to increase prices due to unforeseen circumstances. This is not normal practice of Jersey Farm and plenty of notice will be given.

9.The client is responsible for any loss or damage caused by the client or their guests, agents or employees. The Jersey Farm does not accept any responsibility for any valuables and property, which are lost or stolen during an event.

10. Jersey Farm reserves the right to remove unruly and disruptive guests from the premises.

11. Credit is not available. All invoices must be settled upon receipt.

12. The client or guests cannot bring any wines, spirits, beers, non-alcoholic or other beverages, or food (excluding wedding cakes) onto Jersey Farm for consumption on the premises.

13. At time of booking all hotel rooms will be reserved provisionally for guests attending the event. Any rooms not confirmed will automatically be released two months prior to the event. The computer does this automatically and no prior notice may be given. All guest rooms will have to be confirmed by the guests staying in the room and confirmed with card details and address of customer. A 48-hour cancellation policy is in operation for the guest rooms. Card details given will be charged on failure to show by guests. Jersey Farm Hotel reserves the right to charge customers card for any damage or inappropriate action taken in guests rooms without prior notice to a level to reimburse the hotel.

14. Jersey Farm will not be liable for failure to comply with any terms and conditions, to the extent such compliance is prevented, hindered or delayed by any cause beyond it's control including but not limited to fire, storm, explosion, flood, act of God, action by any Government or agency, shortage of materials or goods, strike or lock-out.

15. The parties who booked the wedding must read and sign a copy of these terms of conditions immediately upon receipt of their deposit.

16. Bars close for residents 1 hour after function finishes. Guests may purchase drinks at closing time and take them to residents quiet lounge.

17. Jersey Farm is all non smoking even hotel rooms and customers are reminded that all guests should comply with this.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Do we charge corkage?
We do not allow customers to bring any food or drink onto the premises except for edible favours and wedding cake.

2. Alcoholic favours ?
We do not allow parties to supply alcoholic favours.

3. Do we allow confetti ?
Yes as long as it is biodegradable, and preferably thrown outside of the building. Silk and fresh petals are allowed. Foil in any form is not allowed. Bubbles are accepted.

4. Should we put cameras on tables ?
This is allowed however remember you will gets lots of photos of the same thing. Our staff will collect and save cameras.

5. Can we decorate tables ?
Obviously we supply table cloths, candle sticks and napkins etc. that blend in with the room, We can put flowers on tables or your florist can supply. Sprinkling of foil is not allowed due to damage to hotel machines. If you want us to put napkins on that you have supplied we can agree a mutual arrangement.

6. Do we cater for all guests on the evening ?
Yes up to 200 guests then we can come to a percentage agreement. We do not count items out we give good portions that enhances are reputation.

7. Can we take left over food home with us ?
Simply due to health and safety regulations we are not allowed to let customers do this.

8. Do we take presents home on evening ?
We will store this safe overnight for you along with the cake and any flowers left.

9. Do we supply place cards ?
Yes - normally decorative inscribed by yourselves, these will be asked to group in tables and kept separate to ease our table setting.

10. Does the bar stay open all day ?
Yes for the duration of the event. We do not operate a late bar service due to the size of the hotel. The bar is open to residents while we clear up and then guests are asked for a final drink which can be consumed in the residents quiet lounge or their room.

11. Can we just have an evening reception ?
On a Saturday and peak Fridays due to demand. The minimum event is a wedding package for 60 adult guests and 90 evening guests with a buffet. This can be at what time of day you require. We do not do just cater with a buffet for the main reception meal because of our enviable reputation guests look forward to visiting Jersey Farm expecting a delicious and hearty meal. 12. How will the day pan out ?
If you were having a civil ceremony with us we like this reasonably early as you have spent a lot on a day then you may as well have a nice relaxed one that is calm and make the most of it. We suggest your ceremony is at maybe 1pm then guests could arrive from 12 midday for drinks prior to the ceremony. The ceremony lasts approx. 20-30 minutes depending on readings etc. Guests would then take a arrival drink and head out onto the terrace for photos. Canapes can be served at this point. Allowing approx. an hour for photos. The bridal party will then be formed into a receiving line and guests invited to the tables. So approximately sitting down for the wedding breakfast at 3pm. Allowing 1 and half hours for the meal and time for speeches cutting of the cake etc. We envisage the meal being over by 6pm latest. If evening guests are invited for 7.30pm that gives you a nice break for guests to chill out and explore or just relax in the bar for about an hour. The evening guests start arriving at 7.30. The first dance would be around 8.30/8.45. Buffet would be served around 9.30pm and dancing until approx. 12.30am.
All together a relaxed and enjoyable hassle free day.

13. Smoking Policy!
Please not that Jersey Farm is ALL smoke free! Guests can of course smoke outside.

14. Health Spa
The addition of our extensive leisure and health spa will be fantastic addition to the hotel and surrounding area. We envisage building to commence late 2007 with a view to completion summer 2008. The building will be situated at the rear of the hotel in the present car park. Building work will be kept to a minimum as to not spoil the grounds or anything taking place in the grounds. We will employ a large company for this project so that the work is under taken swiftly.
The proprietor Mark assures all guests that the minimum of disruption ill take place. On the plus side as well as pool, sauna, solarium, jacuzzi, hydro therapy, gym, studios will be a well known hair and beauty salon. All complimentary for hotel guests. The hair and beauty salon will open early on your special day so you may have all your pampering done leisurely on the morning of your special day. The Spa will also house a brand new contemporary select bistro for intimate dining in an unique ambience! Memberships should be available for advance reservations late 2006.
